Head of R&D (Medical Devices)

Requirement:

  • Minimum 10 years of proven experience in Research & Development within the medical devices industry, with a strong track record of driving successful product innovation from concept to commercialization.
  • Lead end-to-end R&D activities, including product ideation, feasibility studies, prototyping, testing, validation, and design transfer to manufacturing ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards (ISO 13485, GMP, CE/FDA).
  • Develop and execute strategic R&D roadmaps aligned with business objectives, market needs, and emerging healthcare technologies to accelerate product pipeline and competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with regulatory affairs, engineering, clinical affairs, marketing, production, supply chain, and commercial teams to ensure seamless development and market introduction of new products.
  • Oversee product performance improvement initiatives, identifying technical challenges and implementing innovative solutions to enhance safety, quality, cost efficiency, and user experience.
  • Manage laboratory research, clinical testing, and external collaborations with hospitals, universities, research institutions, and key opinion leaders to support evidence-based product development.
  • Lead and mentor high-performing R&D teams, fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, continuous learning, and collaboration to deliver breakthrough solutions.
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic and leadership values reliable, proactive, adaptable, and results-driven, capable of managing priorities with urgency while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accountability.
  • Excellent in English, both spoken and written. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biotechnology, or a related medical/scientific field.
