Mining Government Relations & Permitting Manager

Requirement:

  • Minimum of 10 years of comprehensive background in handling end-to-end permits, government relations, and regulatory compliance for the Indonesia renewable energy and mining sectors, with a proven ability to drive project success.
  • Manage the acquisition, renewal, and management of permits and licenses including OSS, NIB, IUP, WIUP, and environmental permits such as AMKAL, AMDAL, and RKL-RPL to ensure timely compliance for renewable energy or mining operations.
  • Ensure comprehensive compliance with Mineral and Energy (ESDM/Minerba) reporting, forest and land permits (IPPKH, PNBP, Tata Batas Kawasan), and reclamation and post-mining guarantees (Jamrek, Pascatambang).
  • Establish and maintain effective government relations through interagency coordination with ESDM, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, BKPM/OSS, and stakeholder engagement to manage regulatory risks.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact, providing strategic advice to senior management on risks and opportunities.  
  • Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Business Development teams to ensure comprehensive regulatory adherence and documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation on permit status, compliance activities, and government relations efforts.
  • Displays outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating productive engagement with government officials and stakeholders. Skilled in negotiating and resolving complex regulatory issues with a strategic approach. Demonstrates strong leadership capabilities, successfully leading diverse teams to accomplish objectives efficiently.
  • Excellent in English, both spoken and written. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Public Policy, Environmental Science, or a related field.
